Dan Didio talks about the new Flash series. More hints than actual content, as per the usual OYL interviews:

I'm interrupting the planned Slade_daily post that concludes the 2nd Deathstroke/Black Canary team-up to bring you some new Deathstroke/Black Canary crack:

Ah, MAD Magazine - THE satire magazine (or so I feel). Over the course of several decades, they've spoofed, parodied and made satires of so much of the comic world that you would probably have seen at least one of them from somewhere.

The scans which I am about to post are all harvested from their compiled edition of selected comic parodies which is available on Amazon HERE. Your comic collection is not complete with this. Note, however, that a certain degree of humour is required in your bones to really get this book's essence. And it only costs US$9.95 :D

Most of the stuff in this collection are mainly from the DC stable, because DC characters have been traditionally better/more often represented than Marvel characters. Lots of movie parodies (I've included the horrifying 'Batman and Robin' here) like the Superman series as well as TV series like 'Smallville' and even the cartoon series 'X-Men' and 'Batman: TAS', studio-related jokes and so on. Not to mention, the terrific 'If Truth In Advertising Laws Applied to Comic Book Previews...' article.

And here's an idea of the wackiness they come up with:

If you're without a sense of humour and an open mind, you'll probably best not click this cut. Also, some knowledge of American pop culture will carry you a long way.Collapse )

And so we begin our 3x team-up of Deathstroke/Black Canary. You'd think he's trying to help Dick complete his run of the Birds of Prey...

Like all team-ups, things start off rockyCollapse )

Superheroes have nicknames because sometimes their names are too long, or formal. Batman is called 'Bats', Superman is called 'Supes',

and Deathstroke is called...Collapse )

So... I think most of us know that the Bat in Batman Beyond is Terry McGinnis, right?

Well, Jeph Loeb spins the tale on the headCollapse )
